A variegated, evergreen, perennial succulent to around 70cm tall. Rosettes,15-20cm across, of spoon-shaped leaves are borne on grey stems. Leaves are yellow with green, central stripes and reddish-pink tints around the edges of the leaves when exposed to sunlight. Small, star-shaped, pale yellow flowers in racemes are borne on mature plants in spring

How to grow

Cultivation

Grow in full sun in containers outdoors in summer, and once the temperature falls below 10°C grow under glass in a cool greenhouse or conservatory or as a houseplant; use a gritty loam-based medium and allow it to dry out slightly between waterings; for more advice see houseplant cacti and succulent cultivation

Propagation

Propagate by cuttings of rosettes kept at 18°C and barely moist until rooted
