A semi-evergreen, herbaceous perennial to around 65cm in height, forming a clump of arching, strap-like green leaves. Double, pinkish flowers with a darker purple eye-zone above a greenish-yellow throat to 12cm across appear in summer. Not all of the flowers are double on young plants, but once established, all the flowers are beautifully shiny and double

How to Grow

Cultivation

Grow in fertile, moist but well-drained soil preferably in full sun. Flowering is likely to be poor in shadier situations. Tolerant of heavy clay and poorer soils. May need watering in spring to early summer in dry conditions to ensure flowering. See hemerocallis cultivation for details

Propagate by division in early spring or early autumn
