Deciduous, clump-forming herbaceous (non-climbing) clematis, to about 50cm high, with elliptic green leaves. Widely bell-shaped, deep violet-blue flowers are held on slender stems above the foliage from midsummer to early autumn, and are followed by feathery, silvery seedheads
