Synonyms
× Odontioda Joe's Drum gx
A medium-sized, epiphytic orchid hybrid with bright, colourful flowers. Leaves are leathery green, 30-40cm long, narrowly lance-shaped. New growth appears from the swolled stem base - pseudobulb, which serves as a storage of water and nutrients. Each pseudobulb is oval, glossy green, flattened at the top. Two to three leaves are carried from the tip and last couple of seasons. The plant typically flowers in autumn or spring on 30-40cm long, arching stems. New flowering stems arise from the axils of leafed sheaths, wrapped around young, mature pseudobulbs. The flowers are star-shaped, approximately 7.5 cm across, bright pink and heavily patterned with darked spots. Dark red spots on petals and sepals have a paler, contrasting edge.
