A semi-evergreen shrub to around 1m (3.2ft). Growth is upright, bushy with mid-green leaves that clasp the stems. In summer it produces an abundance of bright yellow flowers with prominent stamens which emerge from red buds. These are followed in autumn by clusters of oval, red fruit.
