A medium to large-sized, evergreen, tropical epiphytic orchid hybrid. As a typical example of monopodial orchid, the new growth emerges from the central tip on a long, stem-like rhizome, covered in alternate, leaf-bearing sheaths. Strap-shaped, green or dark green leaves up to 40cm long, angle out from the main stem. As new leaves appear from the top, old, lower leaves gradually drop off. An impressive root system hangs downwards from the base of the plant. New roots grow directly from the main stem, following the ascending growing trend. Inflorescences emerge from axils of leaf sheaths and carry 8 or more bright pink flowers. All petals and sepals are round, uniform in size. Upper half of the flower is heavily spotted, while lower sepals are darker in appearance and tesselated. Each flower measures 8 -10cm in diameter.
