A slow-growing, spreading, clump-forming rhizomatous perennial to around 22cm in height, with basal rosettes of lobed and toothed green leaves. Large, double, frilly, lemon-yellow flowers appear on upright stems in April through to the end of May

Cultivation

Grow in fertile, moist but well-drained soil in sun or partial shade. Avoid areas that are waterlogged over winter. Divide every three years or so to maintain vigour
