A compact, semi-evergreen small tree or large shrub with oval-shaped dark green glossy foliage, turning more pink to yellow in autumn and winter. Masses of creamy-white flowers (bracts) appear in early summer, once the plant is established, followed by strawberry-like pink berries in the autumn
