A compact, upright, evergreen shrub to around 2m high, with pinnate leaves to 35cm long, divided into pairs of slightly glossy, lance-shaped leaflets edged with numerous small spiny teeth. New leaves are flushed with red or pink in spring. Small yellow flowers appear in ascending to spreading clusters in autumn

Cultivation
