An evergreen shrub to around 2m high, with a compact, upright habit and pinnate leaves to 35cm long, divided into pairs of slightly glossy, lance-shaped leaflets edged with numerous small spiny teeth. New leaves are flushed with red or pink in spring. Small yellow flowers are borne in ascending to spreading clusters in autumn

Cultivation
