A deciduous small tree or large shrub with a rounded, spreading habit and oval-shaped, dark green foliage which changes to yellow, orange and red in the autumn. Creamy-white flowers (bracts) appear early to mid-summer, followed by strawberry-like pink berries in the autumn. More compact and slow-growing than other cultivars. Flowering will depend on weather conditions the previous summer; long, hot summers tend to produce better flowers the following year
