A large-sized, evergreen, tropical, epiphytic orchid, valued for its unique, long-lasting, flowers often used in floristry. As a typical examnple of monopodial orchid, the new growth emerges from a central tip on a long, central rhizome. Strap-shaped, green or dark green leaves, up to 40cm long, angle out from the main stem. New leaves emerge from apex, while old, lower leaves gradually fall off. A characteristic feature of the plant is an impressive root system that hangs downwards at the base of the plant. New roots grow from the main rhizome, following the ascending growing trend. Inflorescences emerge from axils of leaves and main stem, and carry up to 10 large, waxy, round-shaped flowers. This hybrid produced large flowers over 10cm in diameter, with dark-blue mosaic pattern on a white background. The flower is flat, round-shaped, with all petals and sepals uniform in shape, size and colour.
