A small-sized, evergreen, tropical, epiphytic orchid species. As an example of monopodial orchid, the new growth emerges from a central tip on a long, upright, stem-like rhizome. The rhizome is covered in alternate, green leaf-bearing sheaths. Strap- shaped leaves, 15-20cm long angle out from the main stem. As new leaves emerge from the tip of the stem, older, lower leaves gradually fall off. A characteristic feature of the plant is an impressive system of aerial roots. New roots emerge from the main rhizome, following the ascending growing trend. New flowering stems develop from the axils of leaf sheaths and stem and carry few, 1 to 5 small, heavy-textured, long-lasting fragrant flowers. Each pale cream or yellow flower measures up to 5cm across. Lip has dark red linear pattern.
