A mat-forming evergreen succulent, the small tight clusters of fleshy rosettes composed of pale green leaves with intensely cobweb-like silvery-white hairs covering the leaf tips. In summer it produces a tall flower spike of starry pink flowers. The rosettes die after flowering but are replaced by offsets on lateral runners

Cultivation
