A late-blooming bulbous perennial with upright, lance-shaped grey-green leaves. Upright tubular racemes of double star-shaped fragrant pale creamy-yellow flowers appear in the March to April if grown outdoors or around February time if grown indoors. Possibly the oldest surviving variety of hyacinth dating back to around 1770
