Fls to 70mm wide; outer florets (upper surface) strong purplish pink 68B, with a strong red 46A glow on the basal half, especially at margins, with a small white (155A) at apex; outer florets (lower surface) as upper surface, but with a brighter strong red 46A glow, which runs through the veins; inner florets strong red 53D, overlaid with deep red 53A stripes, with touches of brilliant yellow 9C at apex. Stem to 0.7m, green, overlaid with purple

How to Grow

Cultivation

Grow in fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil, in full sun. Pinch out growing tips to encourage bushy plants and stake taller dahlias, see staking perennials. Propagation

Propagate by softwood cuttings taken in spring from shoots from stored tubers, or divide the tubers ensuring each division has a viable bud

Pruning

Deadhead spent flowers to encourage further flowering. Cut back to near ground level in autumn, before lifting and storing for the winter

Diseases
