A clump-forming, evergreen perennial, upright at first but quick to trail as the stems become heavier. Oval-shaped, smooth foliage is mid-yellow with grey-green stripes, which fade as the plant matures, with dark grey-purple undersides. Flowers are white with pink edges but rarely appear on plants grown indoors
