A large-sized, evergreen orchid, producing a clump of large, egg-shaped pseudobulbs, enclosed with six to nine, basal, leaf-bearing sheaths. Linear, semi-rigid leaves are 60-90cm long and 1.5cm wide. Arching flowering stems measuring 100cm (or more) emerge from the base of new mature pseudobulbs from autumn to spring. Each stem carries ten to thirty, white, cream or pale pink flowers, around 7-9cm across
