A rhizomatous perennial, to 1m high in flower, with upright, sword-shaped, grey-green leaves, and tall, branching stems bearing 8 to 9 flowers. Flowers have white standards with a fine yellow edge, pale yellow falls with a golden yellow edge, and an orange beard

Cultivation

Thrives in a sunny position, in neutral to slightly acid soil with good drainage. Plant rhizomes just above soil level, as sun on the rhizomes encourages flowering. See bearded iris cultivation
