An upright, clump-forming perennial, to around 60cm high, with semi-evergreen, strap-shaped leaves. Branching stems bear flowers up to 13cm across in summer, with cream petals brushed with rose pink, a rose halo and a yellow-green throat

How to Grow

Cultivation

Grow in fertile, well drained soil, in areas that will not dry out in summer. Prefers full sun, flowering is likely to be reduced in shadier situations. Water freely from spring to summer. Divide every 2-3 years to maintain vigour. See hemerocallis cultivation for more advice

Propagate by division in early spring, or in autumn at least six weeks before the first frost
