A dwarf perennial, to around 35cm high, with upright, sword-shaped, grey-green leaves. Flowers have deep purple standards, creamy white falls with broad purple edges, and an orange beard tipped with purple, and are produced from late spring to early summer

How to Grow

Cultivation

Thrives in a sunny position, in neutral to slightly acid soil with good drainage. Plant rhizomes just above soil level, as sun on the rhizomes encourages flowering. See bearded iris cultivation
