A herbaceus perennial with attractive, feathery foliage composed of long, well-spaced narrow serrated leaflets. Ruby-red flowers appear in June to July. Self-supporting and a useful plant to provide height in a border earlier on in the season

Cultivation

Grow in a moderately fertile, moist but well-drained soil that does not dry out; best in full sun or partial shade. As with all Sanguisorba, avoid overly rich soils to prevent flopping.
