A small, clump-forming deciduous perennial to around 40cm in height, with blue-green foliage with wavy edges, blushed purple from the stems through the base of the leaves. The purple blushing fades in summer. Upright, lavender-purple flowers appear in summer

Grow in fertile, moist but well-drained soil in part shade with shelter from cold, dry winds. See hosta cultivation
