A compact, hardy, deciduous, clump-forming perennial to around 40cm in height, with strap-like green leaves and upright, hairy stems. Single, anemone-like flowers with reflexed petals change between different shades of red as they mature, appearing from mid summer and sometimes lasting through until the autumn
