A clump-forming, semi-evergreen herbaceous perennial to around 70cm in height, with arching strap-shaped green leaves. Large, fragrant, dusky maroon-red flowers with a ruffled golden edge, paler midribs and a golden throat appear in June to July, sometimes with a second flush of flowers at the end of the summer

How to Grow

Cultivation

Grow in fertile, moist but well-drained soil preferably in full sun. Flowering is likely to be poor in shadier situations. Tolerant of heavy clay and poorer soils. Propagate by division in early spring or early autumn
