An endangered, heritage variety of winter squash from Northern Italy with rounded, slightly flattened, knobbly but not warty, grey-green fruits to around 30cm in diameter, reaching up to 3 or 4kg in weight. The dense, orange flesh is non-fibrous and makes a good filling for gnocchi or tortelli pasta. Sow from March to June for harvesting in the autumn
