A clump-forming, very floriferous, deciduous herbaceous perennial to around 90cm in height, with large, fresh green waxy leaves, tinted with red when young. Large, pale salmon to peach-pink flowers with darker centres and yellow stamens appear in mid to late May

How to Grow

Cultivation

Best in a deep, fertile, humus-rich soil that is moist but well-drained in a sheltered position in full sun or partial shade. May need support (see staking perennials). See herbaceous peony cultivation

Propagate by division in autumn or early spring
