Herbaceous Perennial

A compact, upright, hardy, clump-forming herbaceous perennial to 180cm in height, with green divided foliage. Strong, upright stems produce dense spires of rich, cranberry-red flowers with a white eye from summer, providing a second flush of even darker cranberry-coloured flowers in the autumn, if cut back after the first flush

How to Grow

Cultivation

Grow in fertile, well-drained soil in full sun. Shelter from strong winds and provide support (see staking perennials). Divide every 2-5 years to maintain vigour. See staking perennials and delphinium cultivation for further advice

Propagation

Propagate by division or by basal softwood cuttings in spring

Pruning
