A vigorous, narrowly conical, deciduous tree about 16m or more tall, with maple-like 3-lobed, toothed, dark green leaves to 15cm long, grey-green beneath, turning butter-yellow in autumn. Pendent panicles of fragrant, pale yellow flowers are produced in early to midsummer

How to Grow

Cultivation

Suitable for parks and very large gardens. Grow in moist but well-drained soil in full sun or part shade, with shelter from cold winds. Usually free of aphids and therefore free of sticky honeydew. For more advice see tree cultivation
