A late, medium-large, red, orange and yellow, dessert apple with russet dots, patches and netting. Crisp, juicy, yellowish flesh has a rich, sweet, aromatic flavour. Vigorous, upright trees produce a good crop in mid-autumn, storing to late winter. Requires a group 2, 3 or 4 pollinator. Raised by the head gardener at Madresfield Court, Worcestershire, in the early years of the 20th century, and named after him
