Because of it's susceptibility to Phytophthera lateralis, this cultivar should be grown in well-drained soil. If possible, purchase plants that have been grafted onto disease-resistant understock. Tolerant of chalk soils but prefers slightly acidic soil
Propagate by seed and semi-hardwood cuttings
No pruning required but if used as hedging, trim twice a year to maintain shape
May be susceptible to aphids, juniper scale and shoot-boring moths
May be susceptible to Phytophthora root diseases. This particular cultivar is particularly susceptible to this
