A compact, clump-forming, evergreen herbaceous perennial to around 30cm in height, with arching, strap-like green foliage. Lilac to rose-lavender flowers with a rose lavender eyezone and lime green throat appear in June and July and are nocturnal, opening late afternoon, remaining open during the night and closing the following morning

How to Grow

Cultivation

Grow in fertile, moist but well-drained soil preferably in full sun. Flowering is likely to be poor in shadier situations. Tolerant of heavy clay and poorer soils. May need watering in spring to early summer in dry conditions to ensure flowering. See hemerocallis cultivation or daylily cultivation for details
