A slow-growing, tidy, compact shrubby plant to 2.5m in height. Spring leaves are green, irregularly edged with bursts of golden yellow, diminishing completely to green in the summer season. Autumn leaf colours include yellow, red and orange. Medium-sized white bracts surround small central flower heads in May and June, followed by red strawberry-like fruits in autumn.
