A clump forming herbaceous perennial, to around 50cm high, with hairy stems and leaves. Leaves are green and finely divided into 9-11 toothed lobes. Light violet-blue flowers, with purple veins and shading to a purple centre, are produced in late spring and early summer

Cultivation
Thrives in moderately fertile, moist but well-drained soil, ideally in sun but will tolerate part day shade. Will not tolerate waterlogging
