A large, vigorous tree ultimately 25m in height, with a spreading habit. Broad, 3 to 5-lobed, wavy-margined leaves to 15cm long, open brilliant red, then turn dark green in summer and orange-yellow in autumn. Small yellow flowers in clusters produced in spring are followed by green winged fruits in autumn
