Ann-Marie Powell
Ann-Marie Powell’s multi-award-winning garden design practice has seen outdoor spaces as places with exciting possibilities for over twenty years. Based in the UK, her studio uses plants, bold colours and textural contrasts, to create garden habitats that invite an evolving ecology, instead of the traditionally decorated garden. Sustainability is a fundamental value of their approach; she and her team strive to design naturally energetic and bold landscapes to become havens for an abundance of insects and wildlife where clients live in harmony, up close and personal with the natural world.

Ann-Marie is a Top 50 House & Garden UK garden designer, Top 20 Country and Town House garden designer and in 2023 Gardens Illustrated listed her as one of the most inspiring female garden designers in British history.
Alongside her successful design business, Ann-Marie has authored four books on garden design and writes regularly for national magazines and newspapers including The Telegraph, Gardens Illustrated and The English Garden.
Ann-Marie has also presented over 20 different garden design, garden history and pure gardening programmes, including coverage of RHS Chelsea for the BBC. A documentary on Ann-Marie’s work aired as part of the ‘The Art of The Garden’ series on Sky Arts in June 2023.
An experienced exhibitor at RHS Flower Shows, winning golds at RHS Chelsea and RHS Hampton Court, she has also exhibited abroad. In 2022 her studio was awarded the American Horticultural Society’s Environmental Award for their garden ‘Nature Amplified’ at the Philadelphia Flower Show.
Ann-Marie’s high public profile sees her regularly giving talks and lectures for a range of clients and horticultural societies. In 2021 Ann-Marie was awarded Social Media Influencer of the Year by the Garden Media Guild for her Instagram account @MyRealGarden which has more than 55K followers.
Ann-Marie is also honoured to be a Judge for RHS Flower Shows, The Landscape Institute and the Society of Garden Designers Awards. She is also a member of the Garden Selection Panels for entry to RHS Shows, and in 2022 was honoured to be made a Fellow of the Society of Garden Designers.
