Project Giving Back
Since 2022, Project Giving Back has been funding a series of gardens at RHS Chelsea to raise awareness of amazing causes. As we enter the final year of the project, we celebrate the gardens that have inspired us
With nearly 170,000 visitors and an audience of millions across TV and the media, RHS Chelsea Flower Show is an unparalleled global platform for good causes to raise awareness and funds. Since 2022, Project Giving Back (PGB) has been making it possible for a diverse range of charities to have a presence at the show.
Set up as a unique grant-making organisation with this sole focus, PGB funded 12 gardens at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2022, 15 in 2023 and 2024, and 10 in 2025. It was founded by two private philanthropists who wanted to support charitable causes whose work suffered during and following the Covid-19 pandemic. They are passionate about providing a significant springboard for charities to reach more people and attract potential donations. Through the gardens, they continue their important work for people, plants and the planet, and draw attention to the work of charitable organisations, community interest groups, and educational programmes across the UK.
In 2026, Project Giving Back will be supporting these important charities:
Building on the success
In September 2023, it was announced that PGB would be extending its support of gardens at RHS Chelsea Flower Show for another two years, until 2026. Hattie Ghaui, Project Giving Back’s CEO, said: “I am thrilled to confirm we will be supporting even more gardens for good causes at RHS Chelsea Flower Show until 2026. We know from having to turn down some incredibly strong funding applications over the past couple of years that there are so many wonderful stories waiting to be told. We’re all excited to see how the creativity of charities, designers and wider garden teams continues to unfold and look forward to welcoming more partnerships into the PGB family.”
A lasting legacy
All PGB supported gardens are relocated after the show, allowing them to live on and continue to make a positive difference to communities and charities in the longer term, alongside fulfilling the sustainability objectives of the RHS.
