Matt Pasmore

This exhibit recreates Matt’s pottery studio, showcasing a collection of hand-thrown terracotta pieces, from classic garden pots to decorative basketware and rustic tableware, all made using traditional techniques. Visitors can expect to experience the full journey of the pottery, from raw clay through to wedging, throwing on the wheel and hand-decoration.

Centred on the theme of process and craftsmanship, key features include a working potter’s wheel, a wedging and decorating bench and a kiln display to illustrate each stage of making. It reflects Matt’s personal commitment to traditional pottery and the enduring appeal of functional, handmade pottery. The exterior space extends this atmosphere, styled as a rustic setting with planted pots, highlighting the natural beauty and use of terracotta in the garden.

A Sculptor’s Sanctuary is a romantic, elegant sculptor’s retreat with a soft feminine theme. Showcasing dreamy, limited edition original bronze, rust and stone sculptures, the Malvern Garden Building Studio is a nature-integrated space for artistic creation, contemplation and creative freedom.

Laura Jane will create a new figurative sculpture during the show, sculpting in clay on a wire armature and explaining the wider process of moulding and casting using examples to demonstrate. A deep, muted colour pallet throughout creates an intimate atmosphere with natural accents to enhance the timeless, romantic feel.  Key features include a comfortable seating nook for relaxing, two sculpting stations and whimsical storage for sculpting tools, creating a tranquil, nurturing and beautiful space. An open terrace surrounded by an abundance of dainty flowers and elegant sculptures welcomes visitors to immerse themselves in the display.
