Famous filming locations at the Badminton Estate

Are you a fan of Bridgerton, Seven Dials or Pearl Harbour? The location for these and other filming projects is the setting for the RHS Badminton Flower Show in July

Filming at Badminton Estate

Badminton Estate has become a favoured filming location thanks to its grand Georgian interiors, sweeping parkland and varied historic settings. It has appeared in high profile productions including the Netflix series Bridgerton, Queen Charlotte, The Gentlemen and Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials, along with major films such as Pearl Harbour and 28 Days Later. Fashion houses and magazines including Vogue, Monique Lhuillier and Emilia Wickstead have also chosen the estate for editorial and campaign photography.

Its interiors include drawing rooms, elegant ballrooms, a traditional servants’ kitchen and a grand banqueting hall, while the grounds offer formal gardens, an orangery, conservatories, stables, woodland and open parkland. This variety has allowed Badminton Estate to stand in for many different settings on screen, from period houses to contemporary locations.

Badminton’s exquisite Georgian architecture appears in the new BBC iPlayer release, a Jane Austen adaptation The Other Bennet SisterThe production primarily used the interiors for filming, including the ballroom, the large dining room, the staircase and North Hall, along with exterior shots of the East Front Gardens and the North Front.

Bridgerton scenes filmed at Badminton Estate

Badminton Estate appears in Season 1 of Bridgerton, where it was used as one of the filming locations for parts of Hastings House, the residence of the Duke of Hastings. This makes the estate a recognisable backdrop in early episodes featuring scenes connected with Simon Basset’s home life. It also features in the spin-off series Queen Charlotte.
