L’amour Vert

Created by James Whiting, sponsored by Moulin Rouge! The Musical

Celebrating the 5th anniversary of Moulin Rouge! The Musical and the 25th anniversary of Baz Luhrmann’s iconic film, make your entrance through the heart-shaped gateway and immerse yourself in a love story waiting to unfold.

Houseplants take a starring role, bringing to life two very different worlds inspired by Moulin Rouge! The Musical. With a rich, romantic planting palette of deep reds, burgundy, jewel tones, velvety textures and dramatic foliage, the living stage is set for Satine’s luxurious dressing room. In contrast, the wilder, more natural planting of Christian’s garret reflects a creative mind overflowing with ideas and an untamed bohemian spirit.

Discover the beauty in the dialogue between these two worlds as you promenade through the Montmartre-inspired garden. Encounter a Green Fairy fountain, Eiffel Tower obelisk and love bench photo opportunity, while the planting beguiles with its creativity, drama and romance.

Girlypop Biosphere

Created by Plant Studio, supported by Livingreen Design

As the name suggests, Girlypop Biosphere celebrates hyper-pop femininity – bright colours, playful excess, kitsch decoration and unapologetic fun. Through bold design and humour, it challenges the notion that indoor horticulture has to be treated with seriousness and minimalist good taste. With in-your-face foliage and lots of vibrant shades, the space encourages people to approach their planting with a sense of joy and experimentation. Houseplants don’t have to be peaceful. They can be loud and proud.

This Terrarium May Contain Joy

Created by John Kitchin, hugo & green

Inspired by heliotropism and the joy that houseplants can bring to people, this terrarium will contain a rich display of interesting and contrasting foliage. Some plants will rotate slowly under grow lights to ensure even growth. The terrarium is aimed to encourage people to think about leaning in to the light in their life, just a like a plant. Turn towards the sun and find the joy in your world.

Re-create yourself with Houseplants

Created by Liuva Chacon & Leigh Halford

After 15 years in a corporate career, the designer moved from her native South America to the UK and created a new life, pursuing her love for plants full time and opening her own business selling beautiful greenery. That sense of reinvention and optimism is reflected in the design, which employs many species native to South America, bringing together the designer’s past and present.
