At the garden

The Welcome to Yorkshire Garden celebrates the stunning Yorkshire coast by bringing a slice of it to the heart of the capital. The garden is inspired by the rugged beauty of Yorkshire’s striking shorelines, the drama of the county’s many historic buildings and Yorkshire’s special relationship with its agricultural heritage.

You’ll see a ruined abbey, chalk cliffs, a beach and the sea, with gently rolling waves lapping the shore. The inclusion of a trompe l’oeil painting within the ruin links this coastal paradise to the farmland beyond. The planting has a wild feeling with plenty of colourful wildflowers, grasses and native trees.
