Urban Flow Garden

Space to Grow

Did you know...

  • Chipped bricks have been used under the seating area, the colour beneath the glaze intentionally weathered to tie in with the copper accents of the garden
  • Beautiful cast iron grates in the floor allow rainwater to cascade through into a trough below – filtering the water through to the flower beds for an eco-friendly way to water
  • Salvias, euphorbias, astrantias, lupins and iris are used in the garden while the leaves of the Ginkgo biloba tree cast beautiful shadows

About the garden

Bold design features, colourful planting and practical outdoor living space are all accommodated in this small urban plot. The garden is designed with water conservation and environmentally considerate landscaping in mind, as well as a planting scheme that deflects and processes pollution and attracts wildlife.

The Urban Flow Garden has a carefully selected range of plants that includes stunning leaf colours, leaf shapes, foliage habit and stem interest, providing interest beyond peak-flowering season. Plants have been selected to tolerate a range of unpredictable climate conditions, with some able to cope with excess moisture and others tolerant to drier periods. Key plants include Rosa glauca, Baptisia australis, Cornus canadensis and multi-stemmed Ginkgo biloba . Materials in the garden include traditional hand-crafted clay bricks, porcelain cladding and corten steel, their contrasting finishes providing inspiration for all.
