Demonstration / Talk / Lecture
Join archaeologist Dr Sadie Watson as we uncover the evidence for Roman gardens in London, their plants, designs and their influence today
In this talk we will discover how archaeology and archaeobotany can help us to understand the flora and designs of gardens in Roman London.
We will explore the environmental landscape of Londinium and find out what plants grew in a Roman garden and their historic, cultural or medicinal significance.
There will be plenty of time to ask questions, plus join us for a drinks reception after the conversation where you can explore the RHS Lindley Library's collection.
