Uncover the history of this prehistoric plant and the craze which swept Victorian Britain in this 15-minute show and tell at the RHS Lindley Library!
Join our summer series of Lindley Live talks as we take a look at how a plant captured the interest and imagination of an eager public.
Discover a collection of books which tell the story of pteridomania – the Victorian fern craze – and everything from ‘fern forays’ to collect rare varieties, to crafts and design inspired by the fern's distinct fronds.
Our informal show and tells offer a 15 minute introduction to the treasures of our Library collection to liven up your lunch break.
No need to book, just drop in. RHS membership not required. Register your interest to receive a reminder ahead of the event.
The show and tell begins at 1.15pm. Come early to browse our collection of modern titles and changing book displays.
