Fern Day is a celebration of ferns in the garden, a unique opportunity to learn more about these beguiling plants from leading experts Martin Rickard and Angela Tandy.
 
Morning Lecture 10.30am: ‘Ferns in the Garden’ 
Martin Rickard of Rickard’s Hardy Ferns will take an informative and
entertaining look at some of his favourite garden ferns. Martin is Britain’s leading authority on ferns, Chelsea Gold medallist and a past president of the British Pteridological Society.
 
Morning Garden Tour 11.45am
After the lecture, there will be tour of John’s Garden, the beautiful private garden of nursery owner John Massey VMH, paying special attention to the extensive collection of ferns in the garden
 
Afternoon Lecture 2.15pm : ‘The Propagation of Ferns’
Angela Tandy of Fibrex Nursery will give a fascinating overview of fern propagation.  Angela  is passionate about ferns, propagating and growing ferns at Fibrex (the largest commercial collection of ferns in the UK)
A good selection of plants will be available to purchase.
