Demonstration / Talk / Lecture
As London’s parks spring into life, join RHS Libraries and The Royal Parks as we uncover the history of London’s green spaces and what to look forward to in the coming months of sunshine.
Inspired by the Lindley Library's beautiful collection of Victorian postcards, explore how London’s Royal Parks have evolved from their opening to today.
With expert insight from our guest speakers, Anna Barry, Historical Researcher for The Royal Parks, and Head of Horticulture and Landscape Strategy, Matthew Pottage, we will consider the history of some familiar features from London's beloved parks.
Uncover the history and future plans for the fragrant roses of Queen Mary's Garden in The Regent's Park, the sanctuary of The Dell in Hyde Park, and the Italianate water gardens at Kensington Garden.
There will be an opportunity to submit questions to Anna and Matt during the talk. Please note this event will be recorded and available to ticket holders for 30 days following the event. Advance registration is required.
