Charles Williams (owner) will give the lecture and conduct the garden tour. The lecture will concentrate on the origins and history of the introduction of Asiatic magnolias into the garden and on the breeding programme at Caerhays since the 1930s. Attendees will see the latest magnolia hybrids registered and bred at Caerhays including the new Magnolia ‘Caerhays Splendour’, M. ‘Tropicana’ and M. ‘Bishop Michael’. They will also see some of the best known earlier magnolia hybrids – M. ‘Caerhays Surprise’, M. ‘Caerhays Belle’ and M. ‘JC Williams’.
