Discover the art of willow weaving in a one-day workshop led by skilled willow weaver, Deb Hart. Immerse yourself in the process of creating an exquisite frame basket. 

Under Deb’s expert guidance, you’ll discover the unique construction of the zarzo basket, where the base, sides and handles seamlessly intertwine in a single weave. Learn the intricacies of laying out the willow, mastering the weaving technique, and perfecting the finishing touches with various handle wraps. This style of basket is perfect for beginners as well as those with prior weaving expertise, offering an opportunity to add zarzo basket making to your repertoire.

Arrival Information: 
  • Please arrive 15 mins before the start of the workshop to allow time to register your arrival and make your way to the classroom. 
  • This workshop will take place in the Clore Learning Centre, which is located at the top of the hill, adjacent to the Gardeners Rest Restaurant. 
For this workshop:
  • All materials and tools are supplied.
  • There will be tea/coffee available throughout.
  • You are welcome to bring along a packed lunch or the restaurant will be open from 10:00am to purchase food/refreshments. Please note that the restaurant can get busy during peak times, so when you arrive at the classroom, please ask a member of staff about pre-ordering.
  • You are welcome to stay in the gardens afterwards should you wish to have a wander round.
