Join the Education Team for a Welly Walk adventure at RHS Garden Rosemoor.
These workshops are specifically for preschool-age children to spend time in the garden.
Each Welly Walk has a different theme:
13 January 2025:
Sculpture in the Garden - Have a closer look at some of the sculptures in this year’s sculpture trail and then try making your own sculpture from clay.

February 2025:
Sticks and Stick Man - Start the session by reading ‘Stick Man’ by Julia Donaldson. Then make your own stick person using sticks from the garden, and take them for a garden walk! Can your stick man complete the challenges in the Garden? Smell a flower? Balance on a bridge?

March 2025:
Signs of Spring at Rosemoor - Find out which plants grow at Rosemoor in the springtime. Go on a walk to find some growing in the garden, then take part in a spring craft activity and finish the session by planting some seeds to take home and grow.
Suitable for children ages 5 years and under, each session has a different theme and includes a garden walk, craft or planting activity and a story. Activities will go ahead in all weather, so please dress accordingly – booking is essential.
Children must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18 (maximum two children per adult).
Welly Walk event tickets are £3 per child, and this includes a children's drink and all materials. Accompanying adults are responsible for their children at all times.
Please note: Normal garden admission charges will still apply to enter the garden.
Welly Walk dates throughout the year, Mondays, 10.30am–12noon:
Please note, bookings will be closed at midday on the Friday prior to each session. This is so we can ensure that we have the correct resources prepared for the session, and can give 48 hours notice if we need to cancel a Welly Walk due to insufficient bookings. We require a minimum number of bookings in order for the session to go ahead.
