Try your hand at the ancient art of willow weaving in this one-day course led by skilled weaver Deb Hart at RHS Garden Hyde Hall. Create a small berry basket with a pegged handle, ideal for gathering berries or eggs. Learn the basics, from crafting a round base and selecting stakes to mastering the waling weave. Finish with a simple trac border and handle. Suitable for beginners and those with some willow weaving experience.

Arrival Information: 
  • Please arrive 15 mins before the start of the workshop to allow time to register your arrival and make your way to the classroom. 
  • This workshop will take place in the Clore Learning Centre, which is located at the top of the hill, adjacent to the Gardeners Rest Restaurant. 
For this workshop:
  • All materials and tools are supplied.
  • There will be tea/coffee available throughout.
  • You are welcome to bring along a packed lunch or the restaurant will be open from 10:00am to purchase food/refreshments. Please note that the restaurant can get busy during peak times, so when you arrive at the classroom, please ask a member of staff about pre-ordering.
  • You are welcome to stay in the gardens afterwards should you wish to have a wander round.
