Pruning shrubs in early spring helps plants to remain shapely and encourages strong new growth, whilst promoting an abundance of flowers for the summer season. Join RHS Garden Hyde Hall's expert horticulturalist, Tom Freeman, as he looks at why we prune and what are the benefits; what are the correct tools for pruning and how to use/maintain them; correct techniques for pruning and what we can prune in early spring - deciduous and evergreen trees, shrubs and perennials.

Tutor: RHS Tom Freeman
